This Beautiful Life

It has been 10 months since my move to this amazing place called Maui. I am in awe of the people that I have encountered here. I am in awe of the love that I am receiving here.

I have many to thank for this life I am living! With the help of Martisemo and What Ales You I started playing my first solo gig in Nov 2017! Thanks to Derek and everyone who has come and continues to come listen to me sing. Have made a lot of fun friends!

My journey continued with a gig at Maui Brewing Company where I play on Tuesdays. During these times I have been renting rooms! First one in Kihei that was......interesting.....I'll leave it at that. Needing to leave THAT energy asap, I found a room in a beautiful condo close to my gigs that ended up selling so I found myself having to move. Which landed me with a local family in the hills of Waiehu, Wialuku. My home. David and Barbara are family and their 4 kids and 2 grandkids are the best. I LOVE my little apartment. I love the kids all running around in the neighborhood. You can leave your doors unlocked, you feel safe, and it's simply lovely. OOOOK back to music! I started playing Fleetwood's on Front Street in Lahaina on occasional Tuesdays back in November along with MBC who have been great about me playing other gigs! Fleetwood's has been an amazing time and I love the people that work there and dine there!

Throughout all of this, vacationers along with those who live here come and listen to the music. Love the people who are brought to me by this magical Universe! Brian is a friend of myself and the music and told Merriman's that they should have me play and connected us. I am now playing Thursday's and it is a BEAUTIFUL fun location and again the staff fun and happy. Finally, there is Mulligans on the Blue. My Irish family!! LOVE LOVE them. I play there 2 Fridays a month with drummer Kevin, who I was introduced to by Tempa from Soul Kitchen an amazing band with amazing humans! I am continually blown away by the GENUINE LOVE and SUPPORT I receive here. I have had the opportunity to play a couple of all original shows as well and have been on with Michael Elam and others on local amazing station Mana'o radio, which has helped lead me to other musicians as well. Thank you!!

My good friend Reda who owns an amazing yoga studio EVOLUTION YOGA (highly recommend him and his work! He takes you through REAL yoga if you are ready!)

has taught me so much about myself and my journey and I am grateful to his true kindred guidance introducing me to David at The Root Cellar Studios Maui which lead me to the thought of recording a new song I wrote entitled Daybreak. Which then lead to thoughts and ideas that were genuinely listened to.

Iza Goodfriend, local and very talented musician from Haiku and I did a couple of events together and while waiting to play a show together one day in a coffee shop he added his amazing talent to this song that took us to the studio the following week. I told David I wanted some violin and he brought in the amazing Willy Wainwright who then added his magic to this new song as well. ALL of these humans that I have mentioned here have been amazing to me in my personal growth of learning to TRUST men again. Most men have taken from or wanted something from me. This has been the case most of my life. In a time where men are being put under a microscope I want to celebrate these fine fellas that gave me a voice, have respected me as woman, listened to me, my ideas and thoughts and created an environment that allowed me to be me. I am proud of this project and this song. Hopefully to be sharing it with you in the next couple of weeks.

As I sit and ponder about this amazing life I have the privileged of living, I am reminded of not only the great times, but the hard times as well which all flow like rivers into the same big body of water which is me. Guiding me to more adventures. Changing like as the seasons excited for the new birth that comes from each turn.
